 #MySexySaturday 6th December &  #SexySnippets 7th December 2014

Every weekend, a group of us sign up at My Sexy Saturday and some of us at The Nuthouse Scribblers blog and post a sexy snippet: 7 sentences from a work in progress. Here’s mine for the week from  The Veiled Heart. Due for release end March early April 2015.

It’s a historical novella set in London 1898.

This is within twenty minutes after the mechanic’s identity is revealed and there is a great deal of tension between them. He has had no time to explain his deception, they are seated together after the supper dance. The mechanic is trying to ensure he has the chance to speak with her …. to explain. Lily (Mrs Rothbury) is getting ready to bolt.

Lily scoffed under her breath then nearly squealed as his hand came over her knee under the table.

“I need to attend to a few things” he said to the other diners, to her he gave the full force of his gaze.

“I would have the next waltz Mrs Rothbury,” his hand moved a fraction up her leg and felt like it had traveled up a mile.

The table waited for her response eager to see the reclusive widow, Mrs Rothbury, deal with the season’s most eligible bachelor. Under the table his fingers squeezed and those blue eyes of his registered the hitch in her breathing.

“I…, ” she forced herself to relax, waited for her shoulders to lower and her anger to still, “I’m afraid my aunt may need to leave shortly.”

His hand left her leg and those blue eyes, cooler than an arctic sky let her know they were far from done with this cat and blasted mouse deception.
