#MySexySaturday & #SexySnippets: THE VEILED HEART

 #MySexySaturday 13th December &  #SexySnippets 14th December 2014

Every weekend, a group of us sign up at My Sexy Saturday and some of us at The Nuthouse Scribblers blog and post a sexy snippet: 7 sentences from a work in progress. Here’s mine for the week from  THE VEILED HEART. I haven’t officially signed up this weekend so I am taking a little latitude with the sentence limit.

This is very early in the story and the morning after Miriam ( nicknamed Lily) and the hero have had their first ‘encounter’….

It’s a historical novella set in London 1898.

Mary pulled back the drapes and a blinding blast of light ate up the shady corners of the room.

“Argh!” Miriam flopped her face into the pillow… how was it possible for light to infiltrate a pillow?

The moments passed, she wasn’t going to lift her head out of the bedding for the rest of the day. No she wanted to slip back into the cocoon of half sleep and dream. Hold onto the delicious traces of pleasure lingering in her body .

One breath after another caught in the weave, warming the soft downy linen under her mouth. The skin around her lips flamed … just like it had as she’d panted into his thick coat. She’d clutched him so close, pressed her face into the rough fabric heating it with each gasp as he moved in her, knocking them into the back of the carriage bench with each thrust.

Her teeth bit into the fabric, she wanted to do it all again.

“It’s almost noon m’lady and you left instructions to be woken.”

Ah yes, this torture was all her own fault. Miriam lifted her head squinting at that cheerful light.

“Food Mary, I need food and hot chocolate.”
