Great collage by Nicolette Hugo for her WIP BOUGHT. It would be something the Bookbinder would appreciate.
I was doing some research for the Bookbinder and there were some excellent articles about different rope work. I especially liked a book with essays from about 16 different Riggers and how the rope spoke to them. One of them was presenting some of the broader categories of rope work as she saw it and was talking about two areas that she felt were more about how it looked. She described Shibari (which is some of the rope work in the collage below) as being about ‘THE ROPE & the girl’ as apposed to say a more Betty Page style which would be seen as ‘THE GIRL & the rope’. In the Bookbinder he transitions from the first into the second as his heart is unraveled.
