Haruki Murakami

After an blog glitch making her comment disappear into the ether. Robyn from Elder Park Book Reviews said the following which I found very moving and wanted to add here:

‘A good friend of mine turned me on to Murakami a few months ago. I find it is a blend of Japanese mysticism and an enlightened truth into the situations. His ability to really get to the motivations of people is uncanny- and he does it with blinding truth, empathy and wisdom. His books are the most highlighted of my possessions because I have learned so much about myself and my true nature from reading his books and I can’t say that about any other author. Thank you for the post. I hope more people read his works because of it.’

‘Is there one you would especially recommend?’

‘They are all different- Kafka on the shore is more about an inward journey, the wind up bird chronicles is about finding your identity within and with-out of a relationship. Norwegian wood – is about the promise of love and soul mates. IQ84- is about society with an Orwellian influence. All I can say- read the blurbs, see which one talks to you. Just remember Underground is non-fiction.’
