BEDEVILED: A RUSSIAN PURSUIT Book 2: Bedeviled is the story of the Petroski’s second son, Prince Vladimir Ilya Petroski. Ilya, the natural libertine, the rake, went to London with his brother to kick up a storm. His duty was to cause a scandal in the quest of helping Demetri annul the loathed betrothal. The trouble was, while he did what he did best in salons and house parties around London, Ilya finally falls in love. And instead of being free to win her, he is honor-bound to play the rake and in the process breaks the most beautiful heart he has ever come across. A year later, he returns and sets out to make matters right.
WHAT READERS ARE SAYING:
I loved this story and was swept away into the rich world Elsa created. With a sexy Russian hero torn between family obligations and trying to be a man worthy of the heroine’s love, it’s a must read.
This was a really good story and I enjoyed reading it! The characters are well developed (my pet peeve!) and interesting. The story world was interesting and believable. The writing flowed smoothly along and kept me engrossed in the story. I definitely recommend it!
Bedeviled tells the “other story”, the story of the rake brother to Demetri’s good brother. And it’s a far sweeter story than you might think. Ilya falls in love so fully, so completely that he wants nothing more than to give up the charade he is playing. He alternately entices and overwhelms Seraphina. And then he grovels, and oh does he do it well!! There is less steam to this book than to Demetri’s but I was rooting for Ilya all the way! I’ve also got my eye on a certain other gentleman who I hope might get a book of his own in the future.
Ilya is an intriguing character because he has a certain reputation but he is so much more than that. I especially liked his “hobby” and how it played into the overall story. I really liked Seph because she was in an awakening and she let Ilya help her with that. It was beautiful to see.
